Kanz

Kanz (كنز) is a profound Quranic name derived from classical Arabic, meaning 'treasure,' 'hidden wealth,' or 'stored provision.' It appears explicitly in Surah Al-Kahf (18:82), referring to a treasure buried beneath a wall for two orphan boys, placed there by divine mercy. While primarily documented in Arab and Persian Muslim cultures, Kanz has been notably adopted by Balochi-speaking Muslims in Pakistan and Iran, as well as among Swahili-speaking Muslim communities along the East African coast, reflecting the rich diffusion of Islamic nomenclature.
